Who am I and why am I doing this?
In early 1998 I started to make soap because I found a book that said
I could and that the resulting soap I did make would be good for my skin.
It was so right !!! At the time I was unable to use store bought soap
and was instead using a soap substitute in the form of a cream that contained
a lot of chemicals…all recommended by my Dermalologist.
Despite the fact that I had never given soapmaking a thought before, I
had a go at making it, loved the results and so did everyone else. Because
I controlled the soap ingredients I figured it had to be a lot better
for me than something whose ingredient list I couldn’t pronounce
let alone have any say in. I came to realise those store bought soap ingredients
had nothing to do with quality but all to do with price. High grade handcrafted
soap is one of lifes essentials…I wish I had met up with it sooner.
A well made bar which is cared for and kept dry between uses will last
very well and is a great investment. It is just something that is worth
the time and effort and cost…really it is vastly more cost effective
than using ordinary soap and then spending a fortune on expensive skin
care lotions to look after your skin that has been dried out by that ordinary
soap !!
My favourite soap is the Castile…all olive oil. Plain and simple.
At this time, events in my life have made it so that feel I can offer this donation. It has to be a limited offer.
In my previous life I was an RN and have also qualifications in the Education
of people with special needs.
Soapmaking is my passion and my hobby.
